Download Half-Life 2 Opposing Force 2 for pc

However, this was a very demanding game when it was released. I feel that it considering its age, this is still a solid looking game.

It lacks the finer details, but it is more than good enough to get you invested in what is going on. I am a massive fan of this series and even I myself forget that Half-Life: Opposing Force was a thing. If you enjoyed the original game, you are going to have a lot of fun with this. For an expansion, it is pretty incredible what they managed to do. Not only did they create a tremendous single-player experience they also included a stacked multiplayer, which I have to be honest and say that even all these years later I have still not played!

If you enjoy Half-Life and missed out on this or did not even know it existed, I highly recommend that you check it out.

It is impossible to be a gamer and do not know anything about Half-Life. They are some of the most popular game series out there. This time we're talking about Half-Life Opposing Force, an expansion to the original first title. Even though Valve is the developer of the game, this expansion was a collaboration between Gearbox and Valve.

Yes, the same Gearbox that developed the Borderlands games and many more. Released in , this first expansion of the game was a pretty interesting take on the series, but why? Half-Life: Opposing Force is a parallel story, sort of a spin-off.

This time we're not looking at the world through the eyes of Gordon Freeman, but rather a marine called Adrian Shepard. Playing the role of Shepard we are tasked with a mission to silence the scientists about the incident that took place in the Black Mesa Laboratories in New Mexico.

Yes, that's right, now we play as one of the soldiers sent to eliminate Freeman. Reaching the Black Mesa facility, Shepard's unit is attacked by flying alien creatures, causing their vehicle to crash. Now Shepard must fight the evil alien forces, only to discover that he's also being watched by the enigmatic G-Man. As the story progresses, the government has to use a different contingency plan, and since the marines failed at the Black Mesa facilities, they send out the Black Ops.

Now, just as Freeman, Shepard must also face them to survive. The two alien races, the mysterious G-Man and the Black Ops, all of them fighting at once in this spectacular game. Yes, it is in fact pretty similar to the original Half-Life.

This time we get to see and play the experience of being on the other side. We are just one of the soldiers sent to kill Freeman, and that change of perspective is something unique. It is also interesting to see how the stories cross each other from time to time, we even find Freeman a few times throughout the game. Security guards and scientists will occasionally help the player in reaching new areas and convey relevant plot information. However, Opposing Force also features fellow U. Marines who will assist the player in combat to a far greater degree than security guards.

Three types of Marines are featured in the game: the soldier will simply provide fire support for the player with a submachine gun, shotgun or machine gun, the combat medic is capable of healing the player and other non-player characters, while the engineer can cut through doors and remove obstacles, allowing the player and their squad to proceed unhindered. Lag may occur from loading menus or maps. Turn off other programs before running the game. Requires a bit processor and operating system.

At the portal, Shephard discovers a gene worm, a massive creature facilitating the Race X invasion. Not as creative as its source material, but a great add-on nonetheless. Opposing Force lets you to experiencing the Half-Life story through the perspective of one of the grunts sent in to contain the alien invasion at Black Mesa, the ultra-secret research facility from the original game.

You wear the boots of former U. Marine Adrian Shephard, now transferred to a special detachment known as the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit HECU , and find yourself en-route to an undisclosed location via Osprey transport choppers when things suddenly go to hell. The opening segment is every bit as creepy as that of Half-Life.
